S3 Ep 4: That month of the year

Ah! That Month Of The Year has come. A month when you can't get any work done, October! I checked on Google that October has most festivals in most country. For those of you who have viewed this blog and live in different countries must be pumped up about your festivals. I heard that Halloween is also near. On that day one my friends also has a birthday. We used to have this tradition where we would scare him at school whenever he would come, you know, because Halloween is also there that day. He was actually more afraid than excited on his birthday because of this regular tradition. Most of us have also took up the tradition of Halloween. I would update one of my neighbours picture they took on Halloween as soon as I find it. So there must be a lot of things to be happy about on the most of October for other countries. But us Indians are most happiest about this month, because most of the best festivals come in this month. Diwali, Dussehra, Durga Puja and what not. I am talking from the viewpoint of children, because for adults this must be the 'costliest' month. All the firecracker purchase, items for the 'puja's', clothe purchases, cleaning of house and what not! But children are scattered all around, playing with firecrackers, sitting in tents at Durga Puja; Ah! it really felt nice. I used to feel at my best in Durga Puja. My half-yearly's would get over and we would get a nice 10 day break so it felt refreshing. Our schedule would be filled with nothing but fun. Our morning went playing a nice game of dodgeball or football; later in the afternoon I would drop by my friends house and we would play a nice game of chess or cards; by evening we would play cricket and by 7 pm we would start cycling around the colony; by 8 we would sit at the pujas and later we would sit to eat some food served at the bhandara (buffet-type tradition). At 10pm, when all the ladies would be talking or be dancing on the stage, we would sneak into apartments that had been left abandoned. I got out my fear of ghost and darkness that way. By 12 we would reach home and get some rest. So our day would be filled with activities from 8 in the morning to 12 at night. In between the colony in which I lived before would inaugurate some activity in which we all would participate. I would usually take the drawing and talent and quiz competition and won a lot of prizes. I will miss those day ( because they don't do all this in Shimla ). The 'Garba' dances, the prayers and all were great. Although Diwali was no less. It was also a fun festival for me as my birthday would come a week later so it also meant a lot of gifts. At night the society garden would remain empty so me and my friends would launch all our firecrackers from there up into the sky. Whenever we had puja before that, we would say 'Oh please end this prayer', and as soon as it was over, I would take my bag of firecrackers and rush to the garden to meet my friend. After all these festivals, I hope that this feeling of enjoyment during festivals doesn't end.

Sorry for not sending any blog in a month, I've been tired lately and after seeing one view I got since last week from USA, I am pumped up to write again.

Bye!
